The car is loaded.
The price is stripped.
Now that’s a change. Instead of a car that’s “stripped” at a “loaded” price, the Limited-Issue Civic Sedan is just the reverse. A fun-to-drive car packed with added features. Air conditioning. Automatic transmission. An AM/FM CD player with clock. Power door locks. Even a remote entry system. And, it’s now available at a savings of $1,000. An offer this good is sure to vanish quickly. A word of caution.
The strategy here? Outdated. It’s selling features instead of benefits.
If you can, always sell the benefits — features should only be the “how” to the main “what”, the benefit — but only to differentiate and justify. Because no one really cares “how.” The effective “how’s” sole purpose in life is to hold up a big red arrow that points back to “what.”
Yes, with cars (especially back then), you could argue that features = benefits.
But as a general rule — don’t.
What to pay attention to here: cadence & verbiage.
